Booking questions

Why was my booking declined?

Nothing was charged, and you didn't do anything wrong. Here's what usually happened and what to do next.

Why did the venue decline it?

Every SessionPass booking is a request until the venue confirms it. Venues run their own booking system alongside SessionPass, so the most common reason is simple: someone booked that same hour directly with the venue first. Sometimes the venue has that time blocked for a private event, maintenance, or staffing. We don't pass along the specific reason, and it's never about you.

What if the venue never answered?

Venues confirm requests once a day. If a venue hasn't confirmed a booking for the next day by the evening before, we release it rather than leave you guessing overnight. You get the same "couldn't confirm" message, and nothing is charged.

Was I charged?

No. When you booked, your card was only authorized (a temporary hold), not charged. When a booking isn't confirmed, we release that hold right away. Depending on your bank, the pending amount can still show on your statement for a few business days before it disappears. It never becomes a charge.

Can I book another time?

Yes. The hour you picked is open again on SessionPass if the venue's schedule allows, and other times are open too. You can book up to noon the day before a session.

Why isn't booking instant?

SessionPass sells hours at independent venues that also take bookings on their own. Having the venue confirm each request is what keeps two groups from ever showing up for the same bay. That's also why your card isn't charged until the venue says yes.
